Fobs, BAPs, UFOs & TUSAL

For those of you who are not familiar with a stitcher's vocabulary, you are probably wondering what I have been drinking. :) LOL. Well I have been a busy beaver this past week and a half working on lots of stitching projects and so I have lots to share.

While this week has been a blur, I have managed to get some stitching done. Remember the pink dogwood flower I had stitched from Cross Stitch Gold? Well I did another blue border square and after doing a little looking at alphabets, stitched my initials along with the year and a little bright faced pansy that was also featured in the article with the dogwood blossom. So, a little whip stitching around the sides, a little stuffing and viola ~ my scissor fob will be complete!
The Musician is coming along, albeit a little slower than I would have liked. I did move up to another set of q-snaps that was a little larger and have done over 500 stitches since Sunday. I am hoping to get some of the blasted back stitching in soon so that she is popping off the fabric. I think I will leave the beading for last but since I am working all the back stitching and braid as I go along I don't think it will be so bad. This is definitely a Big A$$ Project (BAP) and will be with me for a while. Thank goodness I am so in love with this stitching project because she is definitely not for the weak in heart!
Although I have been remiss on my promise to work on a UFO, I did pull out one this week and worked on it one night this week. While it is not looking like much, I can say it is progress which I want to try to keep doing so that some day in some decade of some century I can move this item from the list of UnFinished Objects (UFOs) to the completed list. My sister-in-law's birthday is in August and she is fanatical about lighthouses. My brother and his family go to the Outter Banks of North Carolina every year so she can see Cape Hatteras, which is her favorite lighthouse. So I started a small pattern the other night to give to her on her birthday of this favorite landmark. Hopefully she will like it. I am not sure why it is showing up as it is because the fabric is Forget-me-not blue jobelan evenweave. Not a huge start but a start is a start and I must show it off!
Finally, it is time for a Totally Useless Stitch A Long (TUSAL) which our wonderful Daffycat is graciously hosting this year. I did manage to place quite a bit of stitching done. Next spring, a little birdie will definitely be warm and comfortable in all those orts while making a nest and laying her eggs.

Until next time, keep your needles movin', spend time with friends and family and most of all, enjoy life!
