A little hiccup.....

Just when you think things are settling down and everything is turning out roses again; fate will deal you another hand every time. I had planned on being able to gush about all the wonderful stitching I had accomplished this weekend, to dazzle you all with the progress pictures that just exuded hard work...... alas, that is not to be. Becky ended up missing school on Friday with the stomach ailments and when I took her to the doctor they were afraid it could be a possible appendicitis. Nine hours later; we were discharged with a kid that had an adverse reaction to the codeine in the cough syrup she had been taking earlier in the week. Luckily, it appears that she is doing okay now and no worse for the wear, knock on wood (I am knocking on the side of my head; don't worry!) and we are hoping things get back on even keel.

While at the hospital, I had taken Quaker Seasons along to work on but didn't get much done. Becky was scared and I had Momma duty of holding her and trying to make the best out of a bad situation. When we got home that night, both of us were ready for bed and Saturday I ended up hanging out with her watching movies, playing board games and going to Borders for some new reading material. Poor kid couldn't really eat anything but clear fluids until her intestinal system was working properly again so she was miserable. Finally Saturday night, all systems were go (literally) thank goodness!


I did manage to do a lot of thinking on the Kind Fond Love sampler and I think I'm going to frog one of the birds I have completed in the center motif and make him another shade of a green only a lighter yellowish-green so he can stand out from the rest of the foliage around him. The color that I used according to the chart is so close to the foliage around him that he becomes lost in it. So, later this week I'll pull out my handy-dandy frogging jib and do a little rip-rip-ripping. Oh well.

My other activity that has been keeping me busy other than the houses, scouts, school activities, work and stitching has been Family History. On Sunday we took a long car ride out to where my Great-Great Grandparents attended church and were buried. We walked around the cemetery and took notes and pictures. The church is a Dunkard church built in 1832 and is still in use today. So far I have managed to trace my family well back into the 1800's on all sides which is really neat. I love sitting and trying to piece together census records and birth records and managing to find another clue to the next discovery.

So I have shown you my pathetic amount of stitching I accomplished this past week. I am hoping one today to have an update that will absolutely dazzle you with the hard work and progress made on all my BAPs. Well, at least that is the plan. :) Have fun and will post again soon!
