Slow and Steady Wins the Race......

I'm steadily working on The Musician by Joan Elliott and have been enjoying stitching on this piece so much it is hard to put down sometimes. So far I have a little over 1000 stitches completed and it is so fun to see the details emerge with each stitch. The shading in this piece is fabulous and I'm hoping to start some back stitching this weekend which should really make this piece pop!

I've also started another small piece that is for a Spring Exchange in my one Yahoo group, Every Stitch Counts. Of course I won't be posting any pictures on here until it is done and sent to my partner but I hope I have found the perfect piece for her!

Finally Spring has made it's way into Maryland! After such a dreary, cold, damp winter the days are longer, the sunshine is bright and temperatures during the day are really nice. I am including a picture of my first flower in the yard this year; a daffodil. I love these daffodils for the fact they are from my Granny's house that my last Prairie Schooler reminded me of. These were the flowers which lined the sidewalk leading up to the summer kitchen.

Tomorrow I'm going to a stitch-in/luncheon up near the Stitching Post and I'm beyond excited. So far about 27 stitchers have said they would make it with about 5 more hoping to come. We are planning an entire day of stitching and members are sharing a pot-luck meal together for lunch. Hopefully I can remember to take my camera and snap a few pictures to share with you all.
